The way you interact with Power BI will depend on your job role. As an end-user orĀ business user, you are the person who receives content (dashboards, reports, and apps) from colleagues. You work in the online or mobile version of Power BI, which is called the Power BI service, reviewing and interacting with this content, to make business decisions

Yes, you can export a report within the dashboard to Excel. In the report’s top righthand corner, click the ellipses (ā¦) and select export data. Any slicer selections you have made while viewing the report will be reflected in the excel file. You can choose to export as an .xlsx or .csv file.
To share, click the āShareā button on the top right of the report and enter the email of the person youād like to share with. You can also restrict the recipient from sharing the report themselves. If you are not the creator of the report or dashboard you may not have access to share the report as the original user may have limited your ability to share the content.
A report is a set of interactive visuals pulling information from a single dataset. Reports can be pinned to a dashboard to summarize data from multiple sources focused on a particular theme or question.
The Power BI Desktop is a free download and you can register for the Power BI Service at no cost (with a business email address). This enables anyone to easily start building reports. The Power BI Service becomes a paid requirement when you wish to share and distribute reports to other users within your organization. Each user will require a Power BI Pro license and this is activated within the administration of Office 365.
